It has been way too long since I have been able to make something to share.
I found a couple of place mats at a thrift store over the weekend and decided to use the lace from one end to make a necklace. Here’s how I did it. It was quite easy.
First cut out the lace.
I cut out the whole piece and then trimmed it down from there. I then sprayed it with a little heavy starch and ironed it before continuing with the process.
Thread a jump ring in to the lace on each side. (This was taken before I decided I wanted the lace turned the other way)
Next, add a piece of chain. Any length that you choose will work.
Add another jump ring to the other end of the chain. This is where you will attach half of your clasp.
Secure your clasp and it’s ready to where!
Let me know if you have any questions! I would love to see pictures if you make one. I’m sure this concept would work well with any kind of heavier lace or fabric!
Ross wants to say hello too:
I started moving things out of my apartment yesterday and snapped a couple of pictures of him as I was leaving.
Thanks for reading!
I picked up this necklace last week at Francesca’s on sale. One side was broken, but all it needed was to have the jump ring secured. It was such an easy fix and I am really enjoying wearing it. If you haven’t noticed, I am a fan of big pieces of jewelry.
Where did my arms go?
They are hiding. The one snowflake outside scared them.
While the title of this post does go along with my outfit, I have also had Nickel Creek playing a lot lately. I had a lovely conversation about them at work last night. I then learned that the Punch Brothers are coming back to Nashville in April! I have already seen them once, but I think I will just have to go again.
I have several fun things planned this weekend. I guess I will have to do homework at some point, but it can wait. Tonight I am going over to a friend’s place to make some butterbeer and watch The Deathly Hallows Part Two. I haven’t seen it since it was in the theatre, so I am excited. I need to give it another try.
Butterbeer recipe and pictures will be posted tomorrow hopefully! Check back then.
This past semester I ventured out with Kaylee, my roommate, to take some photos. It was time for a study break and this was a fun one! Here are some of the pictures that she took. I have used a couple of them on this blog already, but I wanted to share a few more and give credit where it is due. Enjoy!
