Simple Cobbler

A few days ago I showed you pictures from my trip to Huber’s Orchard. Today I am showing you how I used the blackberries that I picked there.

My mom told me how to make this very simple cobbler. I used these fresh blackberries, but feel free to use whatever kind of fruit that you fancy.

First, preheat the oven to 350^. Melt 1/2 stick of butter in the oven in a round baking dish. In a bowl, mix 1 cup white sugar with 1 cup flour. Add 1 cup of milk.  Once the butter has melted and started to foam a little pull the dish out of the oven. Pour the batter that you just made in to the center of the dish. No need to stir. Next, place the fruit in the center of the dish as well. It will spread out a little.

This is what my dish looked like just before going in to the oven.

Bake at 350^ for about 50 minutes or until a nice golden brown crust has formed on the top.

That’s all there is to it. I ate a little bit with some vanilla ice cream and milk. It was tasty.

Pay your local farmers’ market a visit and pick up some fresh fruit to make this cobbler. You will be glad you did.
