Thrifty Thursday: Busted pockets make me happy

On my most recent trip to Pangea, I found this skirt.  I really liked it, but was deterred from purchasing it because of the price.  I decide to try it on just to see how I liked it and then wait for it to go on sale.

While in the dressing room, I discovered that the seam on the bottom of the left pocket was completely separated.  I was so happy! I knew that all I had to do was make one straight seam on the bottom of the pocket and the skirt would be fixed.  I also knew that I would get a discount.

Sold.

Now I have a great new skirt for fall.

My Favorite Thrift Find — Ever.

It has been quite a while since I have done a Thrifty Thursday post. I am aware that I missed posting this yesterday, but I thought I would go ahead and show you my favorite thrift find ever anyway.

These boots. Oh, how I love these boots. I bought them in Asheville, NC two years ago on a  spontaneous trip for my friend Haley’s birthday.  We weren’t there for very long, but we got to see a lot in a short time!  I found the boots at a thrift store downtown. I had been on the look out for boots just like these and was getting quite discouraged. Asheville to the rescue!

I wear these boots with so many things. They have proven to be much more versatile than I thought they would be.  Here I am wearing them with my beloved lace romper from Urban Outfitters that I also purchased a couple of years ago. I love the contrast of the boots with the lace.  This outfit just makes me feel happy. I wear it when I need a little extra boost to my day.

Thrifty Thursday: White Lace

 

I love lace. That’s no secret.  While thrifting, I generally pick up anything and everything made out of lace before I give the other items a chance.

I got this dress at the Hip Zipper in East Nashville about 6 years ago. I found it while on a vintage store trip with my friend Hailey and her mom. She took us to lots of neat stores like this when we were younger and I really appreciate it.

I wore this dress in my high school senior pictures.  I still love it and enjoy wearing it in the summer.

Mmmm…lace.

Of course, I had to have a couple of bows thrown in my outfit too. I got these earrings at a vintage store on 8th. I can’t remember which one.

My shoes are the ones that I picked up at Goodwill and wrote about here.

These Thursdays sure do sneak up on me.  The week just seems to go by all too quickly.  I am treasuring this morning because I am working all weekend. I slept a little last night and will take a nap before work. That will be my pattern until Sunday.

I spent last night chasing one of my favorite duos, The Black Keys!  They played a secret show in town and filmed a music video. They only let 40 people in and we didn’t make it. It was still fun though! I actually had tickets already to a different show in town, so the night still turned out to be fun.
